About PCC
Founder and President, Julio Pessoa, started working in the road construction industry when he immigrated to the US from Portugal in 1974 at the age of 24. Chasing the American Dream, Mr. Pessoa began working as a laborer then became a concrete finisher eventually working as an operator. On the weekends, Mr. Pessoa also had a side business where he did residential driveways and concrete work. In 1978, he entered into a partnership with Jack Couto called Do Couto and Pessoa Construction. In 1979, Mr. Pessoa bought out his partner as Jack Couto was entering retirement. Finally in 1981 Pessoa Construction Company was founded and incorporated.
PCC started as concrete subcontractor and through the years the company grew into a general contractor whose scope of work expanded to include utilities, earth work, storm water management, and structural steel. Through dedication and hard work, Pessoa Construction has established itself as a quality contractor across Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Delaware.
